ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS/BEGINNERS
BEGINNER PAINTING
- ALL MATERIALS PROVIDED
Saturdays, 10 am - 1 pm - 4 weeks
SEPTEMBER 7, 14, 21, and 28 2024
$335 + HST
(Adults only - 19+)
For this course, you do not need to know anything about painting or how to draw. This is also a great course for anyone who has been painting but finds their paintings "flat" or who have difficulty with colour mixing. If you have taken my Introduction to Painting workshop this is a great follow up, but you do not need to have taken that workshop.
We begin with tonal value studies, and studies in colour mixing. You will be working in acrylic and oil paint. These are done to understand the process of painting in each of these mediums, to solidify your colour mixing ability, and to understand the importance of tonal values in a painting.
We then move on to creating a painting of a simple subject. You will choose whether you wish to paint this painting in oil or acrylic. In this painting practice, we will be looking not only at accurate colour mixing and tonal value importance, but also at composition, how to start a painting by seeing shapes and how to simplify reference images
All materials provided
- so no investment on your part for expensive art supplies
Small class size
- so you can get the attention you need.
