Comments from some of my commissioned portrait clients
Sent to me via email and posted on Facebook, most of which have made me cry. I have such wonderful clients. (To my clients: I have loved painting all of your amazing animals. If your beautiful animal is not here, or your comments are not posted it is not because they were not as special to me as the ones that are posted below, it is only due to my inability to document important data - I lost a great deal of images and emails during a computer crash. Thank you so much for commissioning me and sending me so many amazing emails and thank-yous. I am incredibly honoured.) 
Tears streaming down my face, I'm so grateful for this piece of art. Thank you so much Kate, for painting our girl, she is beautiful : it's so perfect, her nose, her eyes, her sweet little ears. Thank you for loving her while you painted her and for understanding how meaningful this piece was to us.

Again, you have created another beautiful portrait! My Anais is now hanging in what was once her favourite room. The portrait fills the room with such warmth. I'm so very lucky to have met you and to have had my first commissioned art piece painted by such a great artist. Chris was late getting home tonight of all days as I was very anxious for him to see the painting. I was so excited - I couldn't wait until Christmas to give it to him. You did an amazing job and have caught that "what me" look she gets when she has been up to something (which in her case is most of the time). Chris is absolutely thrilled with it and thinks it's the best gift he ever received. Thank you so much - we love it - it's perfect.

It arrived safe and sound and we are totally in love with it!!! Somehow you've managed to not only catch the true essence of our Devon, but also the magic of that day on the beach in PEI!! The joy in her face which we've always seen in the photo has been so beautifully captured in the painting. We will enjoy and cherish it always!! We were so fortunate to happen upon your booth at Woofstock and we're so very glad we stopped to have a chat. If we hadn't then we wouldn't now have this amazing piece of your artwork in our home. Hi Kate,
The painting is awesome - you have captured Riley exactly! It's perfect. I especially like the studied longing of her gaze out the window. The use of the color purple - some of her leashes, collars and doggie jackets are in purple, so it suits her. And since I can't wait until October 19th to give it to Kevin, I might just go ahead and give it this weekend! Will let you know what Kevin's reaction was. Awesome work again!" The portrait of Rafter is wonderful. The colours in the painting are rich and full of energy. Rafter looks like a lion hiding in the grass which is exactly his game. You have captured his expression. I love Rafter's portrait. That one crazy of ear of Rafter's is just right. I'll always love it. It's a bit spooky how well the compositions of Rafter and Oliver work in the living room -- really amazingly.Thank you for the beautiful portrait of Rafter.

I am absolutely thrilled with it - you've done such a beautiful job of capturing her spirit (and attitude!) in her eyes, and the way her ears are cocked forward. Steve may have told you that PSue is getting older and we're not sure how much longer she'll be with us, so this is a way that she'll remain in the house even after she's gone. Kate, I think you could tell how much I loved the painting of Riley when you delivered it.
Everyone who sees it thinks it is fantastic. Riley had lots of fans so their praise is very meaningful. I love it because it is Riley, but I also love the painting itself - you have done an excellent job. As was his habit in real life Riley always had a way of being front and centre. The painting just didn't work for me at the bottom of the stairs. I think that was because it was viewed side on most of the time. So despite my initial plans, Riley has moved into the living room which is where he should be and he has settled in quite nicely. Many thanks for doing such a great job! Susan Dell, Ottawa |

It's Chris Yzerman writing. This e-mail is long overdue and something that I've been meaning to write since my wife Karen gave me the portrait you painted of our Simba at Christmas time.I wanted to thank you for your work. After some debate, we decided to open the gift with only a few of us around, which was a fortunate thing since it not only brought a wide smile to my face, but also tears to my eyes. Simba loved nothing better than to spend a winter's day laying on the driveway or the nearest snowbank, keeping an eye over his Teddy bear and our house, and you captured him in all his glory. Although I dearly miss him, I find it both comforting and reassuring to be able to look at the portrait and still see my handsome boy, with his soft and beautiful coat against the snow, and feel like he's still keeping an eye on things. Thank you again and I understand that you went out of your way to get it done in time for Christmas. Your efforts brought plenty of good to an otherwise gloomy season. "I have Snip's painting up on the wall in my bedroom and I get to see it every morning when I wake up. It puts a smile on my face even on these chilly,dark fall mornings. I have forwarded your website to people who are also becoming great fans of your work. They still say Snip is your best painting yet although I am sure everyone has their favourite.

We absolutely LOVE Winter's painting! You managed to capture what a gentle soul he was and that is amazing. Even though the painting makes us miss him even more, we are so happy to have his presence back in our life in such a special way.
