KATE WILL GET BACK TO YOU WITH INFORMATION ABOUT REGISTRATION ETC. THANK YOU.
Two and a half hours each week to paint without interruptions and to throw yourself completely into it. Your choice of medium - watercolour, oil or acrylic and your choice of subject matter. This class is for you if you have experience in painting or have taken level 2 classes with me but either can't find the time at home to paint, or would really appreciate some guidance as you go.
Images shown are all student's work, always a great, supportive wonderful group!
Students bring in the work they want to work on and often continue from session to session.
The sessions are run consecutively in 4 week blocks on Thursday evenings except in JULY/AUGUST and JAN/FEB
Prerequisite: You do need to have some experience for this class - either having taken classes with me or some other painting experience. This class is not a "step by step teaching" class. I offer individual help and suggestions to each individual as they come up with challenges in their work.

This is your choice of subject, but I will help you create a good composition, looking at values and colour schemes ... where to start and how to overcome that blank canvas! Often people don't paint because they just don't know how to start that new painting. We will work together on your painting and I will help you overcome any problems you come up against. You can paint an abstract painting or a realistic one, in your choice of medium - acrylic, oil or watercolour - the choice is yours. I'm there to help you along and create a piece of work that you love.
*Choose the time slot and whether you want to bring your own materials or if you would like me to provide them for you.
If you have your own paints and brushes you are welcome to bring those and use them which does give you a reduced price for the class. The supplies I provide are student grade, but really good student grade. If you wish to use artist grade you can bring your own (I can provide a suggested materials list if you wish).
All students, whether purchasing with or without supplies, must bring a CANVAS if you are painting in oil or acrylic. Watercolourists -who are purchasing supplies may wish to bring their own paper as the studio paper is student grade.
Kate will discuss your size options and where to purchase a canvas on registration - the canvas you buy will generally range in price from $2 to $15. She will also discuss the watercolour paper with you if you are painting a watercolour.
